Defining Global Settings
In the Options - Global Settings page, you can define global settings that determine the appearance of Communications Express software. These settings include the language for the calendar, mail and address book, date and time format, time zone settings, password settings, and the default view after you log in.

Note - The Change the Password option is not available if Sun Java System Access Manager was enabled when Communications Express software was installed.
To Customize Default Global Settings
Click the Settings link.
Specify your preferences in the Options - Global Settings page:
Default Email Client. From the drop-down menu, select the default behavior of your mail client. The options available are Communications Express and Default Browser. Depending on what is selected, the
If you select Communications Express as the default email client, the system will invoke the mail component of Communications Express when users click on linked email addresses.
Note - You should have a valid session for this to get invoked.
If you select Browser Default as the default email client, the system will invoke the default browser or client that the user has configured as his default email client.
The default email client sends email messages from the Address Book.
Note - The Mail option is available in Communications Express only if you can access the Sun Java Systems Messaging Server.
Language. From the drop-down menu, select the language you want for your interface elements.
The administrator for your domain determines which languages are available.
Date and Time Format
Date Format. Select display date, month, and year. Options available are Month, Date, Year; Date, Month, Year; and Year, Month, Date.
Date Delimiter. Select a character to separate the date, month, and year in the date. Options available are slash (/), hyphen (-), and period (.).
Time Format. Select a radio button to choose how to display time. Options available are 12 hour clock and 24 hour clock.
Time Zone. Specify the default time zone for all of your calendars.
Select the general time zone area from the drop-down menu. The time zone areas available are North & South America, Europe & Africa, and Asia & Pacific Rim.
Select the time zone from the drop-down menu of time zone areas.
Click Save to save the global settings.
To Change Your Password
Click Change Password link.
In the Options - Change Password page, enter your Current Password and New Password.
Click Save to save your new password.
Setting Address Book Preferences
You can define preferred settings that are specific to your address book.
To Customize Address Book Settings
Click the Address Book link.
In the Options - Address Book page, specify the following preferences:
Default View. Select the address book of your choice from the drop-down list, that you would like Communications Express to display when you log in.
The available options are:
Personal Address Book
Corporate Directory
Address Book List Display Settings.
Cards per Page. Select the maximum number of address book entries to display on a page. The options available are 25, 50, and 75.
Columns to Display.
Column 1. This column shows the display name of contacts or groups. You cannot change this column.
Column 2 to Column 6. Select a value from the drop-down menu in these fields to customize the layout and column settings of your address book. You can choose not to display a column by selecting "- Don't Display This Column-" option from the drop-down menu.
The options available are Display Name, Company, Title, Phone (Primary Phone, Work Phone, Home Phone, FAX Phone, Pager Phone), Email (Primary Email, Work Email, Home Email), Address (Home Address, Work Address), Web Page Address 1, Web Page Address 2, Calendar Address, Availability Address, Dates (Birthday, Anniversary Date), Organizational Unit, Contact Actions (Edit Link, View Calendar Icon).
Click Save to save your preferences.
